MPSC-B, AR Women Team clinch titles at DGAR Polo C'ship

Imphal, February 08 2025: MPSC Team-B and AR Women Polo Team emerged victorious in the inaugural DGAR Men and Women Polo Championship 2025, securing their respective titles with impressive performances in the finals held at Mapal Kangjeibung on Saturday.

In the men's final, MPSC Team-B staged a dramatic comeback to edge past X-Polo Club with a 7-6 victory.

H Abung Khuman played a pivotal role, registering a at-trick to lead his team to glory.

X-Polo Club took an early lead in the first period, with Th Santosh netting twice and Th Jacob adding another to establish a 3-1 advantage, while T Pradeepkumar scored for MPSC.

X-Polo maintained their dominance in the second period as Santosh secured his third goal, though Viking Salam reduced the deficit for MPSC.

The tide shifted in the third period when MPSC turned the game around, driven by two goals from Abung Khuman and another from Viking, bringing his tally to two.

X-Polo managed to add a fifth goal through L Atangba, setting up a tense final period.

MPSC sealed their triumph in the fourth period as Abung Khuman completed his hat-trick and Pradeepkumar secured his second goal.

Despite a goal from Atangba - his second of the match - X-Polo fell short, handing MPSC Team-B the championship.

In the women's final, AR Women Polo Team claimed the title with a hard-fought 6-4 victory over Linthoinganbi Kangjei Tub (LKL).

Veronica Oinam delivered a standout performance, scoring five goals to propel her team to victory, while Victoria Oinam contributed a goal.

LKL's efforts were led by Kh Habe, who scored twice, with H Priya and Kh Deventy adding a goal each.
