CHAMP crush REYS by 7 wickets in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, February 02 2025: CHAMP recorded a commanding 7-wicket win over REYS in Sunday's action of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25 at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Opting to bowl first, CHAMP made quick work of REYS, dismissing them for a mere 99 runs in 25.2 overs.

Ahsa-nul Kabir was the standout bowler for CHAMP, claiming 3 wickets, while Thingbaijam Nicholson and Sultan Karim each picked up 2 wickets.

Md Babu and Afjal Khan also contributed with a wicket apiece, helping restrict REYS to a modest total.

REYS' batting effort was led by Jaali Ahmed Chisti (23), Naoshekpam Manglemba (17), and Kiran Laishram (16), as only these three players reached double figures.

In response, CHAMP comfortably chased down the target, reaching 100/3 in 27.3 overs.

Nawaz was the anchor, remaining unbeaten on 50, while Sultan Karim (18 not out) provided solid support.

Contributions from Leikhram Johny (12) and Afjal Khan (1) further ensured the victory.

For REYS, the bowlers Yungkham Romario Roy, Kiran Laishram, and Sapam Bikash each claimed a wicket, but their efforts were insufficient to prevent CHAMP from securing a comprehensive win.
