PTRC overpower MODEL by 229 runs in MNCA Women's One Day Trophy

Imphal, December 22 2022: PTRC (Patsoi) secured their second straight win with a 229-run demolition of MODEL Club(Singjamei) in the MNCA Women's One Day Trophy at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

PTRC chose to bat first and posted a mammoth total of 335 before they were all out in 33.2 overs.

shone with the bat for the Patsoi side as she hammered 94 off 74 balls.

Binomala Chanu (42), RK Linthoingambi (29), Chong hoihvak (23), Bidyarani (18), Kiranabala (16) and Manimacha Angom (13) were other key contributors to PTRC's total.

In the innings, the team lost two wickets each to Banti Sharma and Loidangton Thokchom, and one each to Kolom Bidyalaxmi, Yaisana Wangjam, Rebika Oinam, Shila Telem and Sanathoi Leihaorungbam.

Chasing a massive target, MODEL struggled to score runs.

They played the complete 35 overs but could only manage 106 for 5 .

In the chase, Loidangton Thokchom (33) was the only bright spot for the Singjamei side.

PTRC bowlers unsettled the MODEL batting lineup with a fine display of tight bowling to make sure their opponents got stuck at 106 at the end of the game.

Ranjita Koijam followed up her batting form with two wickets as Konsam Sayatombi, Manimacha Angom and Alina Laitonjam bagged one each to help their side notch up a huge win.
