Night football: RFU Kpi, SMT Haipi, Taphou FC enter round of 22

Kangpokpi, November 09 2021: As the knockout round of the ongoing 5th edition of Kuki Football Academy's Open Night Football Tournament kicked off on Monday night, Real Friends United (RFU) Kangpokpi had a 2-1 victory over United Youngstar to enter the round of 22.The Kangpokpi side led the game when their striker Vumminlen volleyed home in the 19th minute.

However, United Youngstar's Thangcha scored in the 43rd minute to find an equaliser before halftime.

RFU Kangpokpi were the better side in the second half as Vumminlen scored the winning goal in the 56th minute enough to help his team reach the round of 22.In the second match, SMT Haipi had an easy 3-0 win over Pholva FC to book a berth in the Round of 22.Obed (8th), Lungousem (28th) and Haolenngam (40th) scored for the Haipi side.

Meanwhile, in the third match, South Changoubung Youth Club and Taphou FC had a 1-1 draw during the normal time and the match had to be decided penalty kicks which went in favour of Taphou FC who won the match 7-6.During the normal time, Taphou FC found the lead through Tonglenlal's 19th-minute strike but it was equalised 10 minutes later by South Changoubung YC when Seigoumang found the back of the net in the 29th minute.
