IBSA book semifinal berth in MNCA Plate Tournament

Imphal, January 05 2025: IBSA booked a place in the semifinals of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament with a 3-wicket victory over SHADOW at Cherepur on Sunday.

The win ensured IBSA finished second in Group A with 12 points from eight matches.

The semifinals are scheduled for January 7, 2025 .

IBSA will face Group B winners KSDO at Lairenjam Public Ground, while KCDO will compete against NCA at Public Ground, Cherapur.

Asked to field first, IBSA restricted SHADOW to 132/8 in 32 overs.

Sagatpam Lanchenba (67 not out) was the standout performer for SHADOW, with Aziz Khan contributing 19 runs.

IBSA's disciplined bowling unit delivered a cohesive performance, with Pravesh, Mk Tamim, Nelson Keithellakpam, and Yengkhom Bhomendro each claiming two wickets.

In their chase, IBSA faced challenges but ultimately reached the target in 28.2 overs, losing seven wickets along the way.

Key contributions came from Subhas Khundrakpam (26), Yengkhom Bhomendro (23 not out), Azmad Kh (22), and Khundrakpam Lemba (15 not out) .

Despite valiant efforts by SHADOW's Loyumba Soibam, who took four wickets, and Devi Khunjamayum, who picked up two, their efforts went in vain.

Elsewhere, OSCAR claimed a 22-run victory over YPHUC in the day's other match.

However, both OSCAR and YPHUC failed to advance to the semifinals, concluding their campaign in the group stage.
