ICSA, YWC cruise in Girls' inter club tourney

Imphal, January 05 2023: ICSA and Youth Welfare Club eased to victories while Young Welfare Club scraped past FC Imphal in Thursday's fixtures of the U-14 Girls' Inter Club Football Tournament 2022-23 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Laishram Rani scored twice to steer ICSA to a comfortable 3-0 triumph against Wangoi Football Association.

Rani opened the scoring after 10 minutes and she went on to extend their advantage in the 24th minute before Oinam Retika tripled their lead in the 63rd minute for their side's thumping victory.

Youth Welfare Club too enjoyed a 3-0 drubbing of Women Football Academy.

Huidrom Joyshini Chanu gave her team a rousing start with a 4th-minute opener and Wairokpam Monika made it 2-0 in the 58th minute before Mangpineng Khongsai struck in the third goal in the 64th minute to wrap up their 3-0 result.

Young Welfare Club, meanwhile, were made to work hard by FC Imphal for a 1-0 win.

Sorokhaibam Silky put YWC ahead in the 43rd minute as her side clung on to collect all three points.
