Durand Cup: Keithelmanbi Bn organises curtain raiser football match

Imphal, July 27 2022: Keithelmanbi Bn under the aegis of IGAR (S) has organised a "Curtain Raiser Football" match between "PreRecruitment Trainee Youth" and local team from Charangpat Mamang Leikai-DUC Football team today at Chaoyaima School Ground this afternoon.

The motive of organising the football match was to encourage and nurture the budding sportsmen and also promote 'Fit India' & 'Khelo India' campaign, said IGAR (S) in a statement.

The event also provided a platform for local youth to showcase their sporting prowess and an opportunity to further tap into rising fervour for football in view of the upcoming Durand cup which will be co-hosted by Manipur, it said.

Both the teams displayed commendable sportsmen spirit and enthusiasm during the match but the local team won the match 3-1 .

Both the teams and emerging players were felicitated in a post match presentation by Assam Rifles, it added.
