Japhou YC pip SASA as AKYC, CYC split points in Chandel 1st Division Football League

Imphal, October 25 2024: Japhou YC struggled past SASA while Anal Khunou YC and Cheengkhu YC shared the spoils in the Chandel 1st Division Football League 2024 at Ziontlang Ground on Friday.

Japhou YC came through a tight tussle to grind out a 1-0 success against SASA.

Oliver was the hero as his goal in the 26th minute turned out be the match-clincher.

Meanwhile, Anal Khunou YC and Cheengkhu YC settled for a 1-1 draw.

Hl Bening put Anal Khunou ahead in the 17th minute, but Kankhungam drew level for Cheengkhu two minutes later, resulting in the 1-1 stalemate.

In the 2nd Division League, Chakpikarong YC and Chandel Christian YC secured wins.

Chakpikarong drubbed Soltang FC 5-1 .

N1 Kaboy scored two goals while St Khumhringjoy and Ws Pharhring netted one each in Chakpikarong's dominant win.

The winning side's other goal came via a penalty kick.

Soltang got their consolation goal through Jamhring Wanglum.

Chandel Christian beat Chadonpokpi YC in a penalty shootout.

The match was decided by penalty kicks after both teams remained 1 1 at the end of regulation time.

In the shootout, Konitgha, Laningam and Kophahring converted their shots, securing a 3-2 victory for Chandel Christian.
