PAMYAL down GYSC to enter Winners' Cup semis

Imphal, January 05 2022: PAMYAL (Imphal West) rode on Michael's brace to beat GYSC (Lonpi) 2-0 and book a place in the semifinals of the 25th Winners' Cup on Wednesday at PAMYAL Ground, Patsoi.

PAMYAL toiled for 21 minutes before Michael broke through GYSC's defence to bury the ball in the back of the net.

Then the see-saw battle continued for the major part of the game until Michael put his side firmly in control.

Michael claimed his second goal in the 86th minute, leaving little time for GYSC to mount a comeback.

Following their quarterfinal second-led triumph, PAMYAL confirmed their place in the semifinals where they will meet UBFC (Ukhrul) .
