Mega State Level Boxing Championship : Pumsonthang Singson to take on Rahul Kumar for elite men's 60 kg category title

Imphal, March 29 2022: Pumsonthang Singson will fight it out with Rahul Kumar for elite men's 60 kg category title (1982-2003) in the Mega State Level Boxing Championship which is underway at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

Rahul Kumar of UBA made it to the final without breaking a sweat as he got a bye in the semi-final before Pumsonthang Singson of IND entered the final beating Beldari Shahid Afrid of IND.

Fighting for the elite men's 54 kg title are Jackson Pukhrambam of MKBA and Yuhlung Eraingam Chothe of IND.

Jackson Pukhrambam reached the final beating Mahendra Singh Soti of IND in a semi-final clash while Yuhlung Eraingam Chothe got a walkover against Moirangthem Nganthoiba of PBA.

The final line up of the other 12 categories were also completed today.

Khaidem Sanatomba of STC will take on Nongthombam Henthoiba of PBA in the sub-junior boys (2008-09) 46 kg final.

Sanatomba made it to the final beating Naoshekpam Sanathoi Meitei of IND today while Henthoiba downed Chingakham Tingo of KBA in the other semi-final bout.

Fighting for the sub-junior boys 58 kg title are Jayrajs Yengkhom of PBA who beat Khaidem Lanchenba Meitei of STC and Laishram Mangansana Singh of NBA who outlasted Rajkumar Yumkhaibam of IND in another semi-final bout.

Meanwhile, Chingangbam Agu Singh of PBA will lock horns with Nandeibam Babychand of NBA for the junior boys (2006-07) 48 kg title.

Agu got the better of Khuraijam Guliver of KBA today in a semi-final clash to enter the final as Nandeibam Babychand overcame Sapam Ronaldo Singh of IND.

In the sub-junior boys (2008-09) 52 kg final, Rajesh Konjengbam of IIS who downed Yaithengbam India Singh of NBA will take on Konjengbam Pathouba of STC who outlasted Khamnam Toperjit of PBA in today's semi-final bouts.

In the sub-junior boys 35 kg semi-final matches, Tonambam Chingkheinganba of NBA saw off Korouhenba Urungpurel of IND while Laishram Uningba Khuman of IND beat Jasobanta Yengkhom to complete the final line up.

Meanwhile in the sub-junior boys' 55 kg semi-final bouts, Johnson Khoirom Singh beat Amom Maipaksana of STC to set up final clash with Sairengchung Serto Kom of MKBA who outlasted Guruaribam Leeosbindro of UBA.

Fighting for the youth men's 54 kg (2004-05) title, on the other hand, are Pheiroijam Nonglen Meitei of NBA who beat Khangjrakpam Yaima of STC and Kaphing Hongchui of MKBA who beat G Dalginlian of IND in today's semi-final clashes.

The youth men's 63.5 kg title clash will be played between Musha Ahamad of UBA and Thokchom Hemlet Singh of IIS.

Musha got the better of Thiaumuanlal Guite of IND in a semi-final bout today before Hemlet entered the final beating Chinglemba Moirangthem of MKBA.

Locking horns for the sub-junior boys (2010) 40 kg title are Khundom Robert Singh of KBA who defeated Sapam Mangisana of NBA and Khamnam Rojesh Singh of PBA who beat Fajaba Naorem of BBA.

Meanwhile in the sub-junior boys (2010) 49 kg semi-final bouts, Sandham Victor of NBA defeated Laitonjam Bolex of UBA and Ningthemsana Sanjenbam of NMC beat Khundom Lanchenba Meitei of IND to complete the final line up.

In the sub-junior boys (2008-09) 49 kg semi-final bouts, Maibam Jet Singh of NBA beat Ningthoujam Priyananda Singh of KBA and Thoumujam Paikhomba of STC who beat Sapam Hiyakhomba of PBA.

Ningombam Ripa Devi of UBA will take on Kimhoinei Telen Kom of MKBA in the junior girls (2006-07) 50 kg title clash.

In today's semi-final bouts staged today, Ningombam Ripa outlasted Priety Laishram of NBA as Kimhoinei Telen Kom saw off Moirangthem Bindiya Devi of IND.
