State Sepaktakraw Championships: HUDIC-A, Model Club register three wins in mini boys regu event

Imphal, May 27 2024: HUDIC-A, Heingang and Model Club post three victories in the Group A regu competition for mini boys in the 23rd Mini, 25th Sub-Junior, 25 th Junior and 38 Senior State Sepaktakraw Championships which kicked off today at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.

As many as 25 teams clubbed into four groups are taking part in the mini-boys regu event of the championships organised by the All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association (AMSTA) .

In the Group A regu event, Model Club defeated YAWA-D, Singjamei by 2-1 sets before beating LKYDA in straight sets for the second win.

They however suffered a 1-2 sets loss to HUDIC-A who had beaten FUC-B, Singjamei in straight sets earlier.

Model Club bouced back in the fourth game to beat IMSUC in straight sets (2-0) before going down by 1-2 sets to FUC-B in their fifth and ultimate league match.

Meanwhile, HUDIC-A registered their third straight victory as they prevailed 15-6 15-11 over YAWA-D.YAWA-D and LKYDA, Laiphamkhunou also sealed two victories in the group A regu event today.

YAWA-D earned first win by beating FUC-B by 2-1 sets before beating IMSUC-C, Heingang in similar fashion.

LKYDA in the meantime beat FUC-B by 2-1 sets for the first win before beating IMSUC-C in straight sets.

In the Group B regu event, HUDIC-B and YAWA-C also secured three victories in the opening day matches.

YAWA-C defeated YAWA-G in straight sets for the first win before beating WAC, Singjamei in straights sets for the second win.

They posted their third win against PUC-A, Kairang in a closely contested three set clash.

HUDIC-B in the meantime secured straight sets victories against WAC, YAWA-G and SWC-B.PUC-A also defeated WAC and YAWA-G in straight sets to end their day with two wins in three matches.

In other group B matches, SWC-B defeated WAC by 2-1 sets as WAC beat YAWA-G in the same fashion later in the day.

In the Group C competition, IMSUC-A, YAWA-B and YASTA-A notched up three victories each.

IMSUC-A pulled off a 15-9, 15-12 victory over YASTA-A, Thoubal for the first win before easing 15-3, 15-2 past YUC for the second win and crushing YAWA-B 15-8, 15-5 for the third win.

YAWA-B in the meantime got the better of YAWA-F in straight sets for the first win before defeating FUC-A by 2-1 sets and sealing a straight sets win over YUC.

YASTA-A in the meantime defeated FUC-A 15-11, 15-3 for the first win before easing past YAWA-F 15-3, 15-13 and YUC 15-9, 15-10.FUC-A also secured two wins beating YUC in straight sets and YAWA-F by 2-1 sets.

Meanwhile in the 7-team Group D matches, SWC-A, HUDIC-A and PUC-B notched up three wins each.

SWC-A defeated HUDIC-C 15-5, 15-9 for the first win before defeating PUC-B 15-7, 15-10 and YAWA-E 15-3, 15-0.PUC-B secured a 6-15, 15-9, 17-16 win over HUDIC-C to open their account beating pulled off straight sets victories over YAWA-A and YAWA-E.On the other hand, HUDIC-C bounced back to beat YASTA-B 15-11, 16-6 for the first win; IMSUC-B 15-8, 15-5 for the second win and YAWA-E 15-3, 15-6 for the third win.

YASTA-B meanwhile opened their account with a 15-6, 15-3 win over YAWA-E before beating IMSUC-B 15-10, 15-6 for the second win.

YAWA-A also secured two wins beating IMSUC-B and PUC-B .

13-team mini girls regu event begins

The day also saw the commencement of the mini girls regu event participated by 13 teams clubbed into four groups.

YAWA-A secured two straight victories in the Group A competition two inch closer to quarterfinals after their first game defeat.

YAWA-A went down 17-15,5-15, 13-15 to HUDIC-B in the first match but made their way back into the competing by beating IMSUC-A 15-8, 7-15, 15-3 in a see-saw competition for the first win before securing an easy 15-14, 15-14 win over WAC.

IMSUC-A also posted a straight sets win over WAC.

In the Group B competition, PUC-A defeated HUDIC-A 15-2,15-6 for their first win before easing past IMSUC-B 15-5-15-2 .

In other Group B matches, HUDIC-A beat IMSUC-B and SWC-C beat IMSUC-B in straight sets.

In the Group C league matches, SWC-A beat WVSO and YAWA-B in straight sets as WVSD beat YAWA-B in straight sets for their first win.

In the Group D matches, SWC-B beat FUC and PUC-B in straight sets as PUC-B beat YAWA-C, HUDIC-B beat IMSUC-A and FUC beat YAWA-C .
