State Level Boxing Championship : IW dominate Day 4 with 19 medals including 11 gold

Imphal, November 26 2022: Imphal West continued to dominate the ring in the ongoing State Level Boxing Championship collecting 11 gold and 8 silver medals on Day 4 here at Boxing Arena, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

In the junior boys' competition, IW's Johnson Khoirom (58 kg) and Khangchakpam Punsiba (61 kg) won gold medals in their respectively category as Rajkumar Yumkhaibam of IE overwhelmed Asem Anand of Thoubal 5-0 to win the 64 kg category gold.

In the youth men's final bouts, Bishnupur's Soibam Yaiphaba (48 kg), Irungbam Malemnganba (54 kg) win gold medals as Churachandpur's Chungneireng M Kom claimed the 57 kg category gold with a 5-0 beating of Leichombam Lamnganba of IW.

IE's Wahengbam Lanchenba (6-0) beat Laishubam Radheshyam of Bishnupur 3-2 by split decision in a keenly contested clash for the 60 kg title as Chinglemba Moirangthem of IE won 63.5 kg category gold with an easy 5-0 win over Kenedy Moirangthem of Bishnupur.

IE's L Luhen (67 kg) and IW's Thongam Bikiraj (71 kg) also won gold in respective categories as Kakching's Leimapokpam Rahul outclassed Konsam Nongsaba of IW for the 75 kg category title.

Elite Men
In the Elite men's final bouts staged today, Kingson Pukhrambam of IW (54 kg), Laishram Edison of IW (57 kg), Akoijam Naoton of Tbl (60 kg), Rohit Ningthoujam of Bpr (63.5 kg), Moirangthem Sanathoi of IW (67 kg) and Oinam Mangalthoi of IW (71 kg) won gold medals for their respective district units as Huidrom Nganthoi of IW fetched the 80 kg category gold medal beating Roshan Khwairakpam of Imphal East 5-0 .

Master Girls
Hawaibam Lingjen of IW prevailed 5-0 over Sanasam Simaran of Bishnupur for the master girls's 42 kg category gold medal while Sarangthem Linthoi of IE sealed a similar win over Kakching Yumnam Kenita of Kakching for the 44+ kg category gold medal.

Sub-junior Girls
In the final bouts of subjunior girls, Moirangthem Khrismira of IW (40 kg), Moirangthem Max of Tbl (42 kg), Thokchom Lucky of Bishnupur (4.4 kg), Radhamani Longjam of IW (46 kg), Loitongbam Bidya of Bishnupur (48 kg), Ningthoujam Anjali of Kakching (50 kg), Amom Malemnganbi Chanu of Kakching (52 kg), and Maria Pame of Tamenglong emerged victorious as Yumnam Rakhi of Kakching claimed the 57 kg category gold with a 4-1 win over Alina Khaidem of IW.

Youth Women
The day also saw Venika Yumnam of Bishnupur beating IW's Salam Helena for the youth women's 41 kg category gold before Kakching's Moirangthem Luxrni thumped Ningthoujam Kalpana of Thoubal for the 50 kg category title.
