Imphal, July 24 2021: With Mirabai Chanu opening the tab for Indian medal tally at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Mirabai Chanu's popularity on the social media has multiplied manifold.

On Instagram, Mirabai Chanu (@mirabai_chanu) had a fan following of about 42,000 till morning today but by 8 pm, it had risen to 149,000 followers, gaining more than 107000 followers in a span of about 7-8 hours after she won the Silver medal for the country.

Twitter went crazy with #MirabaiChanu trending at Number 1 in India from the moment she won the medal until now.

All the Top 5 ranks in 'Twitter Trending' were all about Mirabai Chanu.

On social networking site Facebook, posts congratulating and celebrating the historic win was all over.

With every leading personality from sports to politics congratulating her for the win, the entire newsfeed of every Indian was flooded with posts related to Mirabai Chanu.
