Women's One Day Trophy : THAU notch up 10 wicket win over MODEL

Imphal, December 20 2022: THAU-Thangmeiband rode on Waikhom Ganga and Meri Keithellakpam to overwhelm MODEL-Chingamakha by 10 wickets for the second win in the MNCA Women's One Day Trophy at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam today.

MODEL were bowled out for a minuscule 23 in 11.3 overs by THAU who chased down the target in just 3.1 overs without any loss.

In MODEL's innings, Waikhom Ganga trapped Rebika Oinam lbw for 3-ball duck before bowling out top run getter Banti Sharma (10) for the second wicket and removing Loidangton Devi (3-ball duck) to return with the bowling figures of 3 for 2 in 3 overs which include a maiden.

Meri Keithellakpam (3/1 in 2 overs) then claimed the fourth, fifth and sixth wickets in succession to reduce MODEL to 19-6 and returned with the best bowling figures.

Aishwarya Chanu Moirangthem (2/3 in 1 over) and Bunty Devi Khoibam (1/1 in 1 over) and Kiranbala Chanu Haorungbam (1/15 in 4.3 overs) then took honour to end MODEL's innings.

Opening pair of THAU -Seterny Devi Brahmacharim- ayum (1) and Waikhom Ganga (19) then completed the effortless chase.

W Ganga who shone with both bat and the ball eventually claimed the woman of the match trophy.

Tomorrow, PTCC-Patsoi will play AKSDO-Khangabok.
