TCMDC, SCCC and CYCLONE triumph in 3rd MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

Imphal, April 15 2021: TCMDC-Thongju, SCCC-Singjamei and CYCLONE-Thangmei-band cruised to victories in the 3rd MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy today.

In the Group A league match staged at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, TCMDC scored 118 for 3 in the chase for 115 runs set by PSC, Khuyathong after being let to bat first to secure their first win in the tourney.

Prasanta (31), Surchand (19) and Ranjan (19 not out) were significant scorers in PSC's innings that ended at 114 for 9.Kalyan was the pick of the PSC bowlers in this innings as he fetched 4 wickets for 19 in 4 overs.

His teammates, Babulu and Nganthoi also struck two wickets each.

TCMDC then rode on Tondon's 40, Priyobarta's 31 and Paikhomba's 18 to go past the target with 7 wickets and 2 overs left to spare.

K Kalyan of TCMDC was eventually named man of the match.

Later in a Group B league match staged at the same venue, CYCLONE notched up a 7 wicket win against YUCC, Kwakeithel.

YUCC who won the toss and chose to bat first, bundled out for 41 in 15.3 overs and CYCLONE posted 45 total in the chase for the loss of a wicket in 6.2 overs.

L Kishan led the bowling attack for CYCLONE today and fetched three wickets as his team mates, Homendro and Raju bagged two wickets each.

In the chase Ronald gathered the highest 18 and remained not out to guide CYCLONE to a huge win.

L Kishan Singha of CYCLONE was adjudged man of the match.

Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, SCCC defeated KCC, Kongba Bazar by 15 runs to open up Group C league campaign on a winning note.

SCCC chosed to bat first and stacked up a lowly 113 total for 7 in 20 overs but the score proved too big for KCC as they could gather 98 runs for 9 in the chase.

Kisan (31) and Borish (27 not out) were top run gatherers for SCCC while Roberston (20) emerged highest run getter for KCC.

In SCCC's innings, Boba managed three wickets as Robertson and Sanjit scalped two wickets each while SCCC's Rakeshwor enjoyed a four wicket haul for 17 in 4 overs which included a maiden.

Rakeshwor was named man of the match.
