L Leishemba fashions CYLC junior men's title triumph; Youth Club beat Model Club to seal sub-junior boys' title

Laiphrakpam Leishemba dazzled with the match high 36-point to earn CYLC, Chingamathak junior men's title in the 15 th State Junior and 3 8th State Sub-Junior Basketball Championships organised by the Manipur Basketball Association.

It was a display of firepower for CYLC as 7 players found their names on the scoresheet to enjoy complete domination in three quarters before running away with the huge win in the title clash staged this evening at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.

Laiphrakpam Leishemba converted three triples on the way to his 36-point finish.

Achom Prince meanwhile managed 10 points for the winners as Athouba followed with 9 points, Daniel with 7 points, Leishangthem Leishemba with 6 points, Nung with 4 points and P Vera with 3 points.

Th Sotindrachand meanwhile added Model Club's highest 19 points followed by H Lanchenba (10 pts), N Telheiba (9 pts), A Thomba (7 pts) and H Rahul (5 pts) .

Notably, CYLC had defeated Model Club 52-43 in the league stage.

Earlier in the day, Youth Club, Uripok claimed the sub-junior boys' title by handing Model Club an 82-59 defeat.

Th Billgate (37 pts) and Sriyansh (31 pts) stole the show sharing 68 points together in Youth Club's commanding win as L Irabanta (6 pts), Barun (4 pts), Rathor (2 pts) and Rohit (2 pts) contributed 14 points.

Gison Th meanwhile starred with a 32-point finish leading Model Club from the front but his effort went in vain as they ended up scoring 59 points.

A Nelson also made 19 points for the team while N Lanchenba chipped in 8 points.

As many as 9 junior men's teams, 3 junior women's teams, 5 sub-junior boys' teams and 3 sub-junior girls' teams participated in the tournament.
