33rd State Taekwondo Championship : NSA, UTA share 11 gold medals on Day 2

Imphal, May 10 2024:
NSA amassed as many as 6 gold, one silver and 3 bronze medals to its tally as the 33rd State Taekwondo Championship completed its second day at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium today.
The day also saw UTA clinching 5 gold, 5 silvers and 2 bronze medals to spice up the competition for top honours.
In the junior girls U-49 kg category competition, Rupsa Karmakar won NSA the gold medal beating S Lanchenbi of PTA before compatriot Hafija Khatun bagged the U-55 kg category gold medal by beating UTA's Lingjensana in the final.
Kongbrailatpam Sonia also won NSA a gold medal in the junior girls U-44 kg beating Henthoibi Chanu of UTA in the final.
Loukrakpam Nikash won another gold medal for NSA by beating Laishram Rohit of PTA in the junior boys U-45 kg final before Sougrakpam Rikison beat N Malemnganba in the junior boys U-48 kg final and Yoihenba Yengkhom defeated TTS Nambol's Kangujam Jenish in the U-55 kg final to swell the gold medal haul for NSA.
For UTA, Sarangthem Lanthoi bagged a gold medal beating Melissa Thiyam of IMRTA in the sub-junior girls U-22 kg final as Naoroibam Jina added another gold medal by beating compatriot Priyadarshini M in the senior women's U-46 kg final.
Sapam Nancy won UTA's third gold medal in the senior women's U-49 kg category as she defeated compatriot Irom Bijaya in the final while Yumnam Abenao bagged the fourth gold medal of the day for UTA beating Ningombam Helena of CTI in the senior women's U-67 kg final.
Chinglembi Puyam bagged the unit's fifth gold medal of the day by beating Yaisana Thokchom in the sub-junior girls U-18 kg final.
The U-42 kg junior girls category gold medal went to Mayanglambam Bansika of PTA who defeated P Victoria Devi of NSA in the final while TTS Nambol's K Milan bagged the senior men's U-80 kg category gold medal beating Khumallambam Amubi of PTA in the final.
ASTA's Heisnam Abdash in the meantime bagged the cadet boys' U-37 kg category gold by defeating Thokchom Raj of SAI in the final today.
Yesterday, Venus Tharoijam of PTA, Amotn Peter of RTA, Sukham Tondonba of ASTA, Chanambam Dhanabir of LTA and Y Nongpoknganba of UTA won gold medals in the sub-junior boys' U-50 kg, U-44 kg, U-41 kg, U-32kg and +50 kg category competitions.
Mangal Thounaojam of PTA, Irungbam Tornado of KTA and Usham Chourjit of LTA also bagged gold medals in the sub-junior boys' U-16, U-18, U-27 kg category competitions.
T Bijen of TA Bashikhong and Toijam Tondonsana of UTA also emerged winners in the junior boys above 78 kg and senior men's above 87 kg category events.
