Imphal, July 04 2022: L Lalgopal Sharma beat N Brojen for the second win in the 5th Khuraijam Ramnarayan Shastree Memorial State Level Open Chess Tournament being underway at Juvenile Club, Tera Sapam Leirak under the auspices of Manipur Chess Association.

Yambam Dhanabir also sealed a second straight win beating N Pari today before Kh Sanjoy got the better of M Modhusudon.

In the fourth match Sadokpam Premjit beat Ngakuimi Kasar before Th Sunachand beat Rocky, RK Bhogen beat Ronald Soibam, K Kunjabihari beat Dayanand Thoudam and K Poreikhomba beat Sougaijam Priyokumar Meitei, O Ningthem beat Jalesh Thoudam, N Herojit beat Laishram Nelson and Moirangthem Sanjit for second straight wins.

S Lawrence and N Tokyo however played out a draw in the 12th match to salvage 1/2 points each after having won their first round matches.

In the 13th match, S Herojit beat H Ibochouba to rack up another point as N Dhaneshor beat Y Rishang Meitei and Ph Rajen beat GA Arosemit to add another point to their tallies.

Seram Indrajit who beat RK Bidyaluxmi yesterday in the first round slump to a loss to Premchandra today.

The other players who secured second round wins after having loss yesterday are Bit Irom, M Dorendro, H Kenjen, N Jiringamba, L Lanchenba Meitei, Amom Shyamkishor, E Jeakson, Kangjam Sanajaoba, RK Ningthem, RK Lenin, Ksh Aimson, L Denilson, L Kola, L Shyamkishore.

The day also saw Kamei Kamsom being held to a draw by O Ngangwangkhu Khoisnam in the 25th match.
