State-level Subroto Mukherjee Football in full swing

Imphal, July 13 2017:
The State-level Subroto Mukherjee Football is in full swing, with matches in three venues for under-17 and 14 editions.
Here’s a brief account of the matches that were held today .
Under-17 Championship
MB High School Teng-noupal edged past Maram High School Senapati by 2-0 on the second day of the championship at DSA Wangjing Ground .
Thangkhopao scored both the goals for the winning team in the Group A League match today .
Cornerstone Academy Chandel also enjoyed a comfortable win over Jiribam Higher Secondary by 2-0 in a Group B match, thanks to the powerful shots from R Mi-chael (6') and T Stephen (38') .
In a Group D match, Afros A Higher Secondary School Imphal East had a field day as they defeated Samballei Sekpil Bishnupur by a margin of 4-2 .
Md Baris (30', 43') led the onslaught by netting two goals in the first half of the match.
He was helped by Tondonba (32') and Lucky-chan (60'), who overcame the Bishnupur defence successfully.
Rohit (12') and Prem- chand (58') scored the consolation goals for Samballei Sekpil.
Meanwhile in the Group C match at the Heirok Ground, Little Master English School Imphal West thrashed Little Angels' English School Ukhrul by 6-2 .
Thoi Meitei (16', 51') scored two goals and Premjit (59'), Bijen (61'), Rohit (67') and Michael (68') chipped in with one each in less than ten minutes to make it half a dozen goals for the winning team .
C Ayat (14') and Nabakumar (57) tried hard with some success to get two goals for the Ukhrul boys but it was just too little for the barrage of attacks from the Imphal West team .
In another Group A match, Radhakrishna Foundation School Churachandpur drub-bed Tamenglong Higher Secondary School by 3-1, in which Kamsonglen (6', 69') netted two goals and C Robert (47) added the third one.
Gainingpou (5') scored the lone goal for Tamenglong .
Parbung Govt High School Pherzawl and Mot-bung Govt High School Kangpokpi played a thrilling high-scoring game in a Group C match.
However, the Pherzawl team came out on top, winning the match by 5-4.Scorers for Pherzawl: Mekas (16'), Vanlalal (23', 35', 38,), Wilson (25'); scorers for Kangpokpi: Sekomon (2'), Seiminthang (44', 54'), Paogouthou (52') .
Under-14 Championship
In the Under-14 edition of the championship at the DSA Kakching Ground, Utlou High School Bishnupur defeated Cornerstone Academy Chandel by 3-1 in a Group A match.
Jackson (17'), Isaac (30') and Mahesh (36') netted all the goals in the first half to win the match though it was Konalis (10') who scored the first goal of the match for Cornerstone Academy .
City Higher Secondary School Imphal West beat Elearno Brilliant Academy Kakgpokpi by 3-0 thanks to a hat-trick by Sanathoi (6', 26', 50') .
In a Group A match, CA School Senapati and Union Model School Tengnoupal played the only match of the day that ended in a draw as none of th teams failed to open an account .
Prabachol High School Pherzawl whipped the boys of Sanatombi Academy Kakching by a margin of 6-1 in one of the Group C matches.
John Pakhong (4', 40', 46', 50') was unstop-pable today and scored four goals for the Pherawl team and his teammate L Kelvin (45', 48') scored the remaning two .
Md Anis (7') scored the lone goal for Sanatombi Academy to help his team from a humiliating whitewash .
A Group B match was played at the Manipur College Ground in which LI Standard English School Thoubal routed Don Bosco High School Tamenglong by 4-0.K Yuremba (10', 13', 50) who scored three goals was the nightmare for the Tamenglong team while Yoihenba added the fourth goal .
Ukhrul Public School also enjoyed a comfortable win over Nungmang Govt High School Noney by 2-0.Mathaimi scored the second goal for Ukhrul while the first one was an own goal by Kajunglung in the 31st minute of the game .
In the last match of the day in Group B, Unique Model Academy Imphal East got the better of St John's School Churachandpur by 2-1.Sanamacha (3') and Suraj (12') scored for the winning team, and Thanglen (12') netted the goal for SJS CCpur.
