Led by Sultan, Blue Hawk, Khurai bowlers restricted YWC, Langthabal to only 136 runs in 36 overs for a 17 run win in the 1st MCA Elite League cricket tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.
Batting first, Blue Hawk posted 153 for seven in the 40-over game with Sadam Shah 50 (49 balls) and Nasir Shah 33 (100) being the main contributors for the Khurai team.
With Sultan claiming four, Jetender three and one each by Sanatomba and Lang-lonyamba the Langthabal run chase ended short of the target with all its batsmen back in the dressing room in the 36th over.
Sultan was declared man of the match.
Champ and REYS will play tomorrow.
In the 1st T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament played today at Langthabal Public Ground, Binoy's four wicket haul helped Cyclone, Thangmeiband defeat NAPSA, Kha Imphal by five wickets.
NAPSA batsmen laboured to a lowly 122 all out as fierce spells by Binoy and Abungcha (2 wkt) wrecked the Kha-Imphal side.
In reply, Cyclone reached 126 for five in 18.4 overs with Abungcha belting 36 balls for 41 and Surjit contributing 36 from 28 deliveries.
Model Club, Chingamathak and IWVCC will play tomorrow.
