61st CC Meet : KPFC edge out DM RAO 4-3 in tie-break, NISA overwhelm YDO 6-0

KPFC, Bishnupur saw off DM RAO, Sekmai 4-3 goals via penalty shoot out after goalless draw and NISA, Thangmeiband romped past YDO, Sora 6-0 today to move into the next round of the 61st Sir Churachand Singh, KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2018-19 which is currently underway at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak.
The first match of the day saw KPFC and DM RAO take on one another competitively throughout but failed to consolidate single goal despite many scoring chances the two sides got and the game was forced to decide via penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot-out, only Thangjoylen Khongsai, Shunjanthan Ragui and M Priyananda Meitei of DM RAO managed to beat the KPFC keeper before Md Imran Khan, S Sabi Singh, S Premchand Singh and Khulakpam Arif of KPFC slot home the ball for a 4-3 finish.
KPFC will face AFC which drubbed SFC 6-1 yesterday, in the second round clash.
In the second match of the day, E Dayananda scored twice to fire NISA into the second round of the competition.
Although NISA enjoyed a cool finish, they failed to capitalise on the scoring chances against YDO, Sora which looked hardly in contest and had to contend the first half with a 1 -0 lead courtesy of an 8th minute goal by Th Thangamba.
The game really got the spark after the break and it was E Johny Kom who doubled the lead in the 61st minute of the match before E Dayananda netted his first in the 76th minute for a 3-0 lead.
The goal fest continued with A Herojit scoring the team's fourth goal in the 80th minute while E Dayananda fired in his second goal to extend the lead to 5-0 .
NISA's Lamjingba Mutum then rounded off the scoring in the 89th minute of the match and completed the 6-0 demolition of the Sora side.
UPAA, Kyamgei will play UKB, Churachandpur in the next match tomorrow at 11.30 pm while FCK, Sadar Hills will take on BMSC, Taobungkhok latter at 1.30 pm .
