Imphal, January 27, 2011:
Nine members of Imphal East Zilla Parishad including Upa Adhyaksha said that they were not served prior notice of the no confidence motion vote and claimed that the decision of the vote is not bonafide and untenable.
Addressing in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club Imphal, Upa Adhyaksha K Nilakamal said that Chief Executive Officer Paolun Tuiboi did not delivered the meeting notice dated January 24 to eight members of the Parishad.
As per the rules, meeting notice should be delivered prior to seven days from the date of meeting.
Members from Jiribam, Montessori and Archana Das were hijacked from their way to Imphal by a Minister from Imphal East and dropped them to the office to attend the meeting.
The vote was conducted forcibly which should be untenable, he said.
Nilakamal further said that only 10 members were present during the meeting and vote.
On the contrary, 11 members voted against him instead of 10 members.
