Free coaching preponed
The free coaching for JNV entrance examination 2016 organised by the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Chandel district has been preponed to December 7 .
Thangjalun Haokip, education secretary, KSO, Chandel said that the coaching which was earlier scheduled on December 17 has been preponed to December 7 .
The free coaching will be held at Standard High School, Sugnu Tribal, Zion Primary School and Khengjoy Primary School.
Christmas carol competition
A Christmas carol competition was organised for kindergarten students of Ukhrul at TNL hall today, reports our correspondent.
Organised by Ikra Kidz, Ukhrul, 7 groups from different schools participated in the competition.
St John Bosco, St Mary and Pam's Kindergarten won the first, second and third place.
Intl Sankirtan Day
An interaction session of Nat Sankirtan Gurus of Myanmar, Assam and Tripura was held at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai today ahead of International Sankirtan Day to be held tomorrow at Chandrakirti auditorium.
LISSAM urges CM
Library and Information Science Students Association Manipur (LISSAM) said that though the State Central Library has been organizing Imphal Book Fair since the past many years, the people of Manipur are yet to inculcate the habit of reading.
It also said that there is a serious need to take due steps towards promoting books and the habit of reading for different age groups in the State.
LISSAM would like the CM who also holds the Art and Culture portfolio to attend the book fair as his presence would lift the spirits of book lovers.
One killed in accident
One person was killed while several others sustained injuries when a Tata Sumo (taxi) carrying nine persons on Church duties met an accident between Maram Centre and Maram Bazar along the NH-1 today morning around 8 .
DIC Imphal West notifies
General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC), Imphal West has notified to all applicants who submitted applications for PMEGP 2015-16 vide notification no ZA-55/C & I/2014-15 (II) dated 12-10-2015 to the GM DIC Imphal West that they are required to resubmit the new prescribed entrepreneurs training forms along with training fee of Rs 2000 to be paid in cash or bank draft in favour of GM/DIC Imphal West on or before 10-12-2015 to avail financing under KVIC, MUDRA, PMEGP, MSME, food processing, fund of NABARD, credit guarantee fund trust for MSME etc.
HCBAM notifies
The High Court Bar Association of Manipur (HCBAM) has notified to all members of the Bar that the last date of form submission for transfer of membership from Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim to Bar Council of Manipur has been extended upto December 18.Interested members may apply during office hours with payment of Rs 5000 as processing fees and service charge, according to a statement issued by the secretary of HCBAM.
AMWJU condemns
The All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has strongly condemned the brutal assault on West Bengal based journalists, Prasenjit Saha and Kalyan Mondal by local goons on Friday morning while they went to collect news at Baria village in South Paragana.
In a statement, AMWJU appealed to all concerned to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
YUC clarifies
Referring to the news report published in various dailies of December 3 regarding the gruesome revelation of KCP-MC (Lalumba) cadre,Young United Club (YUC), Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai has clarified that the victim, Tomba was not from Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai.
Errata
Apropos to the news item, 'Electric crematorium mooted' published on December 5, where former Chairman of Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Manipur and Mizoram N Shyamsunder was wrongly referred to as Shyam-kumar in the third paragraph, it is hereby clarified that it should be read as Shyamsunder and not as published.
