AR organises free plantation drive

Imphal, August 12 2021: Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a tree plantation drive along with Assam Rifles' ex-servicemen of Churachandpur district on Thursday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the drive was organised with an aim to promote 'Go Green Initiative' and spread awareness about climate change and global warming amongst the ex-servicemen.

As part of the initiative, the ex-servicemen and the troops planted various types of saplings and they were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological balance.

During the event, Oxygen cylinders, face masks & hand sanitizers were also distributed to the ex-servicemen, it added.
