Lup calls for halting sand, stone mining

Imphal, January 28 2025: Koirengei Awang Khunja Mapal Loumi Lup has urged authorities concerned to stop large scale sand and stone mining with the use of heavy machines in Awang Sekmai portion of the Imphal river.

In a release, Lup secretary N Jugeshor called upon authorities concerned to intervene immediately as mining activities pollute the river rendering the water unusable for the locals.
