AR extends Har Ghar Pani Campaign

Imphal, February 24 2022: 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) initiated a water harvesting scheme on Thursday at Azuiram village in Tousem sub-division of Tamenglong district.

In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that water storage tanks were distributed to the Azuiram village chairman and authority member at Battalion Headquarters, Tamenglong under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Project.

"Har Ghar Pani" is a water harvesting and conservation campaign, envisioned by Assam Rifles to provide safe and adequate drinking water to households in Tamenglong district.

The campaign was undertaken by the unit with an aim of developing village water storage infrastructure for use in rural households and develop reliable drinking water storage facility, it added.
