Imphal, Sep 05: Ist Assam Rifles battalion, Chassad (Ukhrul) conducted a cervical cancer detection camp (Pap smear).

The camp was organised in association with Babina Diagnostic Centre wherein 100 samples were drawn and sent for further analysis, said a PIB (DW) statement.

AR aids orphanage: In a humane gesture, 13 Assam Rifles extended a helping hand to the children of Eden Orphanage Home, Tolloi Road, Ukhrul.

The AR unit donated large quantities of ration and sports equipment to the orphanage which looks after poor and needy children from a cluster of fourteen villages of Ukhrul.

CO 13 AR Col LC Dahiya assured the orphanage staff that there is a long standing lasting relationship between AR and the children of the orphanage.

The AR endeavours would be to support the underprivileged children for providing quality life and education in all possible ways, he added.
