Noney, December 04 2021: A juvenile Chinese Pangolin (Manis Pentadacytla), known as Shaphu in Manipuri, was rescued by the members of Rainforest Club, Tamenglong on December 1 .

The pangolin species, which is included in Scheduled-1, has been released on Saturday at Azuram Community Reserved Forest under Tousem sub-division in Tamenglong district by volunteers of the Rainforest Club in the presence of RFO/Tamenglong Kh Hitler, the RFO commended the Club volunteers for their invaluable service in the protection of wildlife.

He also appealed to the people of Tamenglong district not harm or kill such rare species of wild animal but extend support towards protecting and conserving endangered wildlife.
