Farmers' training held

A two-day residential training programme organised by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Senapati, for Kangpokpi district on the topic ‘Plant protection (bio-pesticide) technique on Kharif season crops 2016-17’ held at Haijang village, Kangpokpi block came to an end today .
According to a statement, Laltinmang Doungel, SDAO, Kangpokpi, Reema Devi Hemam, BTM, ATMA, Kangpokpi, Thangkhopao Chongloi, chief of Haijang village and Kh Nimaichand Singh, resource person of Plant Health Clinic attended the inaugural session of the programme as the dignitaries .
Resource persons of the programme Kh Nimaichand and staff of ATMA including L Bhusan, Sh Samananda, Md Burhanuddin and Th Keniyo prevailed upon the farmers to adopt the use of bio-pesticide instead of chemicals which harm the soil, environment and animals .
A total of 24 farmers attended the training programme with enthusiasm and expressed gratitude to the organisers for their concern.
