Noney, May 14 2024: A police team on Tuesday recovered the body of a man, who got drowned in the Irang river on Monday evening.

The Irang river is located within the jurisdiction of Khoupum police station, Noney district.

Later the body was transported to Imphal for post mortem.

It may be mentioned that the police team went to the Irang river to check illegal river mining activity in the area.

An FIR on unnatural death case has been registered at Khoupum police station.

The deceased was Thailikpou Thaimei, 36, s/o Gaisunlung Thaimei of Lubanlong village, Khoupum, Noney district.
