Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) urged Govt

Deriding the inability of the State Government in following its order regarding the transfer and posting of teachers in hill areas, the Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM) urged the Govt to act as a responsible one in matter pertaining to education.
A ZSUM statement signed by its State Secretary, Kadizanbou Pamei cited that a Science Graduate teacher of Sibilong Jr HS, Y Mani Singh was transferred as per a Govt Order issued on July 7, 2012.However, a subsequent order issued on Sept 3, 2012 stayed the transfer order of the teacher.
Pointing out that the transfer of the SGT of Sibilong Jr HS was affected as per complaint lodged by Sibilong villagers on ground of dereliction of duty, the ZSUM said that the retention of the teachers indicates that the Govt is providing special arrangement for Y Mani for reason best known to the State Govt.The ZSUM also asserted that it would strive to protect the rights of every children of the hill areas.
It added that failure on the part of the Govt to provide necessary teachers to all institutions is tantamount to discrimination of tribal students.
