MPDF condemns attack on scribe

Imphal, October 25 2021: Manipur People's Democratic Front has strongly condemned the attack on Elangbam Rameshore Singh, a scribe for Naharolgi Thoudang from Thoubal district and vice president of Thoubal District Working Journalist Union at his residence in Heirok Part II by around 20 people.

A press release from Manipur People's Democratic Front issued today has appealed to the concerned police station to file a suo moto case against the perpetrators and take up stringent action against them under section 109 and 307 of Indian Penal Code 1860 .

The statement further held the Govt responsible for this unfortunate incident stating that such attacks happen mostly in less developed nations.

The Govt should compensate Elangbam Rameshore and the perpetrators ought to be punished by law, the press release added.
