Imphal, September 06 2026: The Handloom and Textile Employees' Union has warned that frequent transfer of the Director of Handloom and Textiles, Government of Manipur, without valid reason will hamper the development of handloom and handicrafts in the State.

Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Union president Chingtam Luwang said the Government should withdraw its move to replace the present Director in-charge with a new Director.

He warned that if the Government ignores the Union's demand and replaces the incumbent Director in-charge, the Union will launch intense agitations.
