Imphal, December 09 2015:
The State's forest cover has increased by four square kilometres, according to a report of Forest Survey of India.
According to an official source, the State forest area has increased by four square kilometres during 2013-2015 .
However, the forest cover of North Eastern States has shrunk.
Forest cover of Tamenglong district has shrunk by 111 sq kms.
A total of 400 sq kms of forest cover has been cleared for jhum cultivation annually in the State, according to the report.
