The Kuki Students' Organisation, Sadar Hills has vehemently condemned the alleged brutality of the Indian Army posted at Kotlen along National Highway 37 towards a villager of L Jangnomphai village under Saparmeina PS.
KSO president Thangminlen said that one Lalkam Kipgen (38) of L Jangnomphai village under Gamnom Saparmeina PS was arrested on October 4 around 9.30 pm on fabricated charge.
The KSO president said that Lalkam was brutally assaulted by the security force and handed over to the police.
He also clarified that the victim is a cultivator by profession and a father of four children.
He faced the assault from the army not long after he donated 2 units of blood to his ailing wife.
Saying that such harassment of innocent civilians by the security agencies has created fear psychosis among the general public, Thangminlen appealed all concerned to refrain from such acts.
KSO leader also said Lalkam was released today by the police without any condition.
