Imphal, August 05:
Taking serious note of the Chief Minister's inability to come out with a definite decision on the revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act even after meeting the Central leaders at New Delhi, Working Committee of the Apunba Lup has today appealed to the people to carry on the ongoing agitation until and unless the demands of the people are fully met by the Govt.In a statement, the Apunba Lup said that the Chief Minister's delaying tactics will not help in solving the sensitive issue but will worsen the situation as the people will never compromise with anything other than revocation of the Armed Forces Special Power Act from the State.
Referring to the Chief Minister's statement that the people's demand for removal AFSPA from the State is being discussed very seriously by the Central leaders, the Lup said that there is no point in discussing the issue as the numerous killings and rapes in the last 24 years is a testimony of the inhuman atrocities committed by Central Security force in the State.
