A white-bellied green pigeon rarely seen in Manipur has been rescued by volunteers of Joint Co-ordination Committee on Wildlife and Biodiversity (BJCCWB), Manipur along with a team of Singjamei police station led by sub-inspector W Jayantakumar Singh.
The bird is being kept at BJCCWB Rescue Centre for treatment, stated JCCWB convener Romesh Ningthouja while appealing to the people to help in saving wildlife from natural disaster like the recent hailstorm.
He also urged people to inform BJCCWB if any wildlife happens to be rescued or spotted in dire conditions.
