Almost 90 percent of the repairing work taken up on the Imphal-Moreh route for the Indo-ASEAN car rally, which was flagged off by the Prime Minister at Guwahati today, is over.
Chairman of PDA K Ranjit who has been entrusted by the Government to look after the repairing work has left nothing to chance by frequently inspecting the work progress.
Speaking to the media, the president of the Hill Tribal Council, Thangkhochao Haokip, said that the personal interest shown by the PDA Chairman went a long way in expediting the work progress.
A team of the HTC also inspected the Moreh-Tengnoupal route today.
Army and Assam Rifles personnel are on the round the clock security duty on this route to ensure that everything goes off smoothly for the car rally.
Earlier the security personnel had asked the contractors to finish the repairing work by 2 pm today on security grounds.
