IED defused

Imphal, October 22 2013:
Personnel of 20 Assam Rifles today defused an IED which was found at Thamnapokpi along Imphal-Moreh highway.
A source said that an ROP team of 20 AR recovered the explosive device this morning around 7 at a thatch roofed hut on the hill top located around 50 ft away from the highway.
An AR convoy was also said to be passing along the highway at the time the explosive was detected.
The convoy was stopped at the AR's 26 Sector headquarters at Pallel.
According to the source, the explosive was suspected to target the AR convoy.
A bomb disposal unit of the Army defused the bomb later in the evening at a nearby location.
