HRLN to release IPT report on January 18

Imphal, January 17, 2011:
Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) will release its most awaited report of the Independent People's Tribunal (IPT) on torture, extra judicial killings and enforced disappearances on January 18 at Manipur Press Club.
It may be mentioned that the IPT was conducted for three days on December 11, 12 and 13, 2009 at Retreat House, Mantripukhri.
The IPT recorded 42 cases of violation, 40 cases of encounter and two incidents of torture.
The report will present a detailed compilation of testimonies that the victims' families narrated in front of the IPT, said a press release issued by the Director of HRLN, Meihoubam Rakesh.
