Vehicles used in sexual crime seized

Imphal, November 03 2022: Imphal East women police station has seized two vehicles which were used in committing the crime of sexual assault on a minor girl on October 24 at around 1.30 pm.

According to a report, one of the two vehicles is a Hyundai car (MN 01 G-6216) registered under the name of L Sanjoy, the Andro candidate in the recent 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.

Sanjoy was questioned at the Women PS on Wednesday in connection with the case.

Although the car was registered in his name, Sanjoy was found to be unconnected with the crime.

As such, he was produced before a duty magistrate on Wednesday evening, which set him free on bail.
