Imphal, January 14 2018: 6 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) has carried out a cleanliness drive at Singjamei Chingmathak and the adjoining areas of the Company Operating Base in conjunction with the Meira Paibis of the locality.

A press release of PRO IGAR (S) said the cleanliness drive was organised in view of the upcoming Republic Day Celebrations and to thwart any untoward incident in the locality.

In addition to cleaning of the area, the drive was aimed at bringing awareness in the locals about importance of cleanliness, proper waste disposal, usage of toilets and no use of polythenes.

A total of 40 persons from the Singjamei Company Operating Base and 35 Meira Paibis participated in the cleanliness drive, it added.
