Gold jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh robbed

Imphal, January 13, 2011:
In a broad daylight robbery gold ornaments worth around two lakh were stolen away yesterday by miscreants from the house of Chingkham Ranjit of Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai, Nambam Leirak under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East.
According to a complaint lodged by Ranjit, unknown persons robbed gold ornaments worth around 2 lakhs by breaking open two Godrej almirahs in his house around 12.30 pm.
The robbed items included a man's necklace of two and half mohors, a pair of ear rings of two and half mohors, a lady's necklace of two and half sans and 5000 in cash totalling roughly 2,00,000.
