Imphal, November 08 2024: Assam Rifles on Friday held a wreath-laying ceremony in Tengnoupal, honouring rifleman Chanakya Rabha, who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation during "Operation Rakshak" in Elahibra, Jammu & Kashmir, on November 8, 1995 .

While conducting Area Domination Patrol (ADP) in Elahibra, Chanakya Rabha's team came under intense militant fire.

Demonstrating remarkable courage, Rabha advanced towards the attackers, bravely engaging them until he sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

The ceremony, held at the War Memorial, was a heartfelt tribute to his supreme sacrifice, said a PRO IGAR (S) press release.
