Imphal, May 11 2014 :
All Manipur Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMPSWA) has decried the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) for charging late fine in the registration of Classes 8, 9 and 10 students.
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Secretary of AMPSWA L Joy said that the decision taken by BSEM on April 11 last month regarding registration of students should be reviewed.
The students are being charged Rs.50 as late fine in the registration of Classes 8, 9 and 10.The decision of BSEM is not fair as far as the students of schools beyond Imphal area are concerned.
The last date for registration was fixed on April 17 last month, the day of polling for Inner Manipur Lok Sabha election.
Many schools at far-off places might not be aware of the last date for registration.
Moreover, BSEM has made registration compulsory for students each in Classes 8, 9 and 10.The policies of BSEM are quite different from those of other state boards.
The State authorities should better look into the functioning of BSEM and improve the education system, the Secretary added.
