Imphal, October 20 2024:
Bamonkampu residents staged sit-in demonstration at Bamonkampu Khabam on Sunday demanding safe release of Akoijam Angou, who was abducted by unknown persons on September 30 en-route to pick his child from a tuition centre.
Speaking at the sit-in organised by Bamonkampu Women Welfare Association and ChingTam Social Workers' Union Club, a meira paibi member expressed serious concern that whereabouts of Angou remain unknown for the last 20 days.
She also appealed to those involved in the abduction to clarify the reason thereof and release him unharmed considering the trauma besieging his family.
