Imphal, September 23 2026: Please refer to the news item with the heading "Nupi Lup demands NRC with 1951 as base year" published on page 9 of the September 23 issue of this paper.

It is hereby clarified that the 'sit-in protest' was organised by the Kshetrigao Nupi Lamjing Lup and was not part of the agitation launched by the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation (JFD) .

The inadvertent error is deeply regretted.
