Imphal, February 01: As reported earlier in this newspaper, the Assam Rifles authority has ordered an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the death of Major BL Sharma of 1 Assam Rifles who reportedly passed away after his service pistol accidentally went off while giving demonstration to the troops on January 27 at Ukhrul district, said a statement issued by the PRO of Assam Rifles.

The PRO further clarified that the incident did not occur at the post as was reported earlier.
