Imphal, April 24 2011:
Apropos to the news item under the caption, 'Tamenglong Court inauguration,' which appeared in the April 24 issue of this paper, it is hereby clarified that the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court and his entourage stopped at Noney for a tea break and to refresh themselves after the long journey, which was hosted by the district administration and not as published.
The Chief Justice did not say anything about the road condition to the CO of the BRTF.
The report that Rajenlung Pamei is an Advocate of the Gauhati High Court is wrong, as he is an Assistant Registrar in Nagaland who also doubles up as the private secretary to Portfolio Justice M Benoykumar.
He was part of the team as Justice M Benoykumar also took the journey to Tamenglong.
Moreover the visit to Tamenglong was not to inaugurate the Court there, but to take a first hand account of its conditions there.
Our sincere regrets for the goof up.
