Imphal, October 25 2024:
The All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) has condoled the demise of Themmaso Tallano from Longpi Kajui village, president of Tangkhul Youth Council (TMNL) and Masothing Mangshon from Seikhor village, assistant general secretary of Tangkhul Youth Council (TMNL) in a fatal car accident that took place near the Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong district on October 24 .
The ANSAM said the loss of their comrades in a tragic accident near the 'imposed artificial Indo-Myanmar border' in Kamjong area has left a deep void in their hearts and the Naga community at large.
"These leaders were on a Naga National mission of great significance, fulfilling the call of the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) for safeguarding Naga homeland, breaking barriers and shadow lines in Nagalim to Chandel and Ukhrul district of Manipur to raise concerns against the scrapping of Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the imposed order for border fencing to further divide the Nagas at the arbitrary boundary between India Nagas and the Myanmar Nagas by the Government of India," it said.
Their dedication for the Nagas, vision for better tomorrow, commitment to people's movement and supreme sacrifices to the cause of the people will be written in the history of Nagas and forever be remembered by the generations, it said.
"In this unfortunate moment of sorrow and pain, the ANSAM stands in solidarity with their families, Tangkhul Youth Council, Tangkhul community and the entire Naga community at large in Nagalim", it continued.
"We pray that God grants strength to their loved ones to bear this irreparable loss and may their souls rest in eternal peace", it also said.
The contributions of late Themmaso Tallano and late Masothing Mangshon towards the journey of the Naga National struggle for upliftment and protection of Naga identity, land, people and rights will continue to inspire the generations to come, the ANSAM further said.
The ANSAM also prayed for the speedy recovery of Mingyao Raising from Theiva village.
